Additional Gender-Neutral Literature

None of the following are Conference-approved Literature. Taken from aa.org;

The term “Conference-approved” describes written or audiovisual material approved by the General Service Conference for publication by GSO. This process assures that everything in such literature is in accord with A.A. principles. Conference-approved material always deals with the recovery program of Alcoholics Anonymous or with information about the A.A. Fellowship.

The term has no relevance to material not published by GSO It does not imply Conference disapproval of other material about A.A. A great deal of literature helpful to alcoholics is published by others, and A.A. does not try to tell individual members what they may or may not read.

You can read more about what Conference-approved means here in regards to official literature.

Gender-Neutral 12 Steps & 12 Traditions:

This version of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions is labeled as inclusive; “…of all genders, sexual orientations, and religious beliefs.”

No guarantees are made about the accuracy of this copy as I have not had the time to verify how closely it connects to the original 12&12. A cursory skim shows that it looks pretty good.

Inclusive Big Book

This version of the Big Book – aka the main text of Alcoholics Anonymous, makes changes to the gendered language and Judeo-Christian references to higher power to make the text more inclusive.
